My primary area of service is to the Master of Arts in Teaching/Teacher Certification, Master of Education, and Paraprofessional Accelerated Curriculum in Education students. Teacher education is an area I know and respect all so well. Prior to being an admission advisor, I taught in the public schools as an elementary education teacher for ten years. With the knowledge I have obtained in the field of education, I carefully encourage and advise potential teachers to pursue their goals of becoming educators. I feel that serving students is the greatest gift of unconditional love one can render, with the expectation of asking nothing in return, but that each student continues to move forward and prosper.

As a native of Jackson, MS, I began my career in higher education about seven years ago. I have since then acquired a profound passion for assisting students in reaching their academic goals. God has blessed me tremendously by being able to join a dynamic team that seeks to walk with students on their journey of seeking a degree. I thoroughly enjoy helping students reach their maximum potential. I look forward to working with many more students and helping them succeed. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, cooking new dishes, and working with my Girl Scout troop.

Natalie Pipkins Natalie Pipkin, Admission Advisor

B.S., Exercise Science, Mississippi College

After living in Colorado for 8 years, I returned to the Jackson area in 2016. My career in higher education started in 2012 and it has been such a pleasant surprise. It is incredibly rewarding to help adult learners through their unique challenges and goals. I know how important it is to have continuous support and encouragement while pursuing an education and it is my number one goal to provide that to our students. I look forward to being your cheerleader and helping make this transition as easy as possible!
I enjoy being active and going on fun adventures with my husband and fur baby. The greatest perk of moving home has been spending time with family and friends that have stood by me through life’s ups and downs.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

M.S., Mississippi College
B.A., Mississippi State University

I am working on my master's degree in higher education administration, which will be completed in August 2014-the countdown has officially begun. I am the mother of three boys who are actively involved in baseball and a wife for 12 years and counting. Prior to coming to Belhaven, I have had experience working with adult education, fundraising and public relations. I think that the many paths that I have traveled have placed me where I am today. It is a pleasure to be able to work with each one of you and watch you complete your journey to the exciting things that lie ahead. I have a very competitive nature about me and don't give up easily-challenges and bumps in the road do exist-but the life lessons we learn are very valuable.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 - Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Bill Martin Bill Martin, Bookstore Coordinator

After having completed a career in broadcast video, my wife, Cynthia, and I moved to the Jackson area to be close to the grandkids and found the perfect “retirement” job. I have never worked with nor been affiliated in general with a finer bunch of God-driven people. They are a blessing to our students and to me daily. Drop by the bookstore and let me say hello while I serve your academic needs.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.”

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, and experiencing new things. I know from personal experience that the path to achieving a goal can be more of a zig-zag and less of a straight line. Persistence is key!! Attending Belhaven, you will find a strong sense of community that is unique. I can attest that this community will reach out to you to celebrate in good times and will reach out to uplift you in the face of obstacles. I'm thankful to share each day with a community like this and for the opportunity to serve students in reaching their goal of earning a degree.
